TIPS FOR RELIEVING DRY EYE SYMPTOMS
GENERAL TIPS
- Use a humidifier at home and in your workplace
- Wear sunglasses outdoors, particularly those with a wrap-around frame design, to reduce exposure to drying winds and sun
- Blink regularly
- Don’t rub your eyes – even though it may feel good temporarily, it can irritate your eyes
Plus, be aware that certain over-the-counter medications and prescription drugs can contribute to Dry Eye symptoms. Discuss your list of medications with your doctor.

SPECIAL TIPS FOR COMPUTER USE
- Sit about 25 inches from the computer screen and position the screen so your eye gaze is slightly downward
- Reduce glare from the screen by lighting the area properly; use a screen filter if necessary
- Every 20 minutes, shift your eyes to look at an object at least 20 feet away; for at least 20 seconds
- Take regular breaks from computer work
